Future Plans & Upgrades

RotorWay continues to develop its capabilities for helicopter design and manufacture. Still based in Arizona, RotorWay have moved to a larger factory and are increasing the production rate for new helicopter kits to meet world-wide demand. Additionally, an operation has been established in South Africa where kits will be assembled and sold as completed aircraft in countries that allow the sale of pre-built experimental aircraft. This includes India, China, Peru, Brazil and others.

RotorWay has established partnerships with major industrial groups in the helicopter industry. These include Agusta Westland, who have assisted with quality control, research and development, and establishing the South African operation. Also working with RotorWay is Denel, a major South African military helicopter manufacturer. A long term objective is the eventual production of a certified helicopter.

Development work has also been underway on the RotorWay Eagle 300T helicopter. The Eagle 300T is a prototype program for a certified production two-place turbine engined helicopter. The Eagle 300T will be powered by the Rolls Royce 300-B1 engine, a derivative of the RR300 engine that has been certified on the Robinson R66 5-seat helicopter. The Rolls Royce 300-B1 engine has been designed and certified specifically for the Eagle 300T.

A date for completion of the Eagle 300T development and certification program has not been set, as RotorWay is maintaining its primary focus on customers in the kit-built experimental helicopter market with the A600 Talon. However, the Eagle 300T program will bring many benefits for kit-built RotorWay customers, as the goal of production certification is driving significant improvements in production process control, quality and safety levels for RotorWay’s established kit-built helicopter, the A600 Talon.
